Abstract

In this issue, we debut the first of several potential winning entries to our 2016 Young Investigator Challenge. Similar to last year, each article will be marked with a “nominee” banner. From these, the Editorial Advisory Board, Associate Editors, and I will select the winning submission and name our 2016 Young Investigator award winner in early 2017. These young investigators are junior faculty and no more than 5 years post-fellowship, and have made substantial contributions to their submissions in collaboration with their mentor and coauthors. All manuscripts submitted to the Young Investigator Challenge undergo stringent peer review by our most experienced reviewers. Our nominated authors represent some of the most promising talent in the field today, and we at Cancer Cytopathology are delighted to showcase their efforts and help propel their academic careers. As 2016 continues, find out who joins 2015 winner (and Editorial Review Board member) Dr. Alarice Lowe on our growing list of Young Investigators–the next generation of cytopathology!
