Abstract

K. SCHMIDT, in continuation of his previous studies, reports on theories of insanity held and native healing procedures employed by the Iban, or Sea- Dayak, of Borneo. CAWTE propose that the wide variety of shaking symptoms found in New Guinea, as one aspect of possession behavior, are hysterical and culturally standardized simulations of the symptoms of epilepsy.
