Abstract

This chapter outlines the materials and methods throughout this research. The preparations of nanocomposites are divided into two stages. The first stage covers the preparation with suitable techniques such as solution intercalation, condensation polymerization, free radical polymerization, and solution-intercalation film-casting. The second stage includes the investigations of the physical, mechanical, morphological, and thermal properties of all fabricated nanocomposites. The detailed methodology for Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray fluorescence, scanning electron microscopy, adsorption isotherm, tensile testing, thermogravimetric analysis, and moisture absorption are clearly explained, with equations used. By all these characterizations, the physical, mechanical, thermal and morphological properties of polymer nanocomposites can be well fabricated and analyzed.
