Abstract
AbstractA co‐product occurring during synthesis of long chain α,β‐unsaturated acid by dehydrohalogenation of α‐halogenated acid by alcoholic alkali, previously unidentified, has been characterized as 2‐ethoxy‐alkanoic acid. Its structure has been established by combustion data as well as by spectral methods.
