Abstract

In this chapter, an overview on combined fabrication methods based on electrochemical anodization, atomic layer deposition (ALD), and electrodeposition is given for the synthesis of novel geometrically modulated ferromagnetic nanowires, by employing tailor-made nanoporous anodic aluminum oxide with geometrically tuned nanopores size, as patterned templates. Besides that, template-assisted direct ALD fabrication procedure of magnetic nanotubes embedded into the alumina nanopores, among other magnetic nanoscaled materials such as core-shell ferromagnetic-antiferromagnetic nanowires, grown by ALD technique in nanoporous alumina templates is also presented and discussed.
