Abstract
The diagnosis of autoimmune encephalitis (AE) must be included in the differential diagnosis for patients with acute onset of psychosis, mental status or personality changes, delirium, catatonia, or cognitive decline. We will outline key principles that child and adolescent psychiatrists should become familiar with in the evaluation and management of AE.
