Abstract

As the proportion of single-person households has recently increased, interest in home security products has surged. This study aims to propose design directions for Home Cameras. After conducting a perception survey on design elements derived from shape, color, and material, an emotional evaluation of the product images was performed using the SD method. The research found that in terms of product design, curved and stable designs were sought after, and simplicity was considered an important factor. In terms of color, combinations of two colors were most preferred, and the use of colors that convey a sense of comfort was found to be appropriate. Regarding materials, matte finishes were preferred over glossy ones, and choosing robust, luxurious materials was identified as crucial. Three final home camera design proposals have been presented, and it is hoped that these will serve as foundational data for in-depth analysis studies for future home security product design.
