Abstract

Publisher Summary The azabicyclo[3.l.0]hexane ring system is considered as arising from the corresponding carbobicyclic ring system by the replacement of one of the carbon atoms with nitrogen. Position in the ring system is then identified, beginning from a bridgehead atom, with preference being given to the heteroatom, and numbering sequentially through the larger ring to the three-membered ring. The chapter discusses the preparation and reaction of 1-Azabicyclo[3.1.0]hexanes. The two heteroatoms substitutions are mentioned and their preparation is also discussed. These include 1, 2-Diazabicyclo[3.1.0]hexanes, 1, 3-Diazabicyclo [3.1.O]hexanes, 3-Oxa-l-azabicyclo[3.l.0]hexanes, 3-Thia-1-azabicyclo[ 3 .1. 0 1]hexanes to name some. The chapter also discusses 1-Azabicyclo[3.1. 01]hexanes systems with three heteroatoms and also their preparation.
