Abstract

Stress echocardiography—exercise or pharmacologic stress electrocardiography coupled with echocardiography—has become a primary noninvasive modality for identifying patients with coronary artery disease. This chapter reviews appropriate indications and contraindications for stress echocardiography, execution of stress echocardiography, differences in stress protocols, the accuracy of stress echocardiography compared with other noninvasive testing modalities, and future developments in this field.
