Abstract
This chapter introduces the circular economy (CE) concepts and life-cycle assessment (LCA) studies for the bionanocomposites used in food packaging applications. The structure of LCA is comprehensively underlined along with a brief remark on the future scope of LCA studies. Moreover, the chapter discusses the challenges associated with embracing CE as well as highlights the limitations associated with LCA analysis. Several case studies are reported at the end of this chapter for an in-depth understanding of the concepts. This will be useful for LCA practitioners, policymakers, scientists, and industrialists to apply it in academic research as well as develop sustainable commercial products.
