Abstract

Due to advancements in nanotechnology, its wide application potential has been significantly recognized in the biomedical field. Recently, nano oxides have been extensively explored in biomedical applications such as biomedical coating, biosensors, drug delivery, and bio-imaging, to name a few. Among all the nano oxides, iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs) have attracted most attention for the biomedical applications due to their biocompatibility, biodegradability, and superior magnetic properties. In this chapter, the authors present an insight into IONPs for biomedical applications.
