Abstract

Reducing the carbon footprint to converge toward a carbon neutral economy is driving customers and companies and therefore international research to develop and deploy more environmentally friendly products. For that, the various players have inevitably turned to natural fibers and bio-based polymers. The bio-based materials and their combinations (composites) are lightweight and relatively inexpensive. Their main advantage, however, is their sustainability, thanks to extremely low-carbon footprint.
