Abstract

Anxiety disorders, which frequently emerge during development, are characterized by difficulty discriminating between threatening and safe contexts. Evidence across species suggests that related frontoamygdala circuitry is particularly sensitive to early life stress and undergoes dynamic changes during childhood and adolescence. The present study tested for neurodevelopmental alterations in safety learning related to anxiety.
