Abstract

PrefaceThis is the proceedings of the selected papers presented at IUMRS International Conference in Asia (IUMRS-ICA) held in Qingdao, China, Oct. 20-24, 2016. IUMRS-ICA is one of the most important series conferences of International Union of Materials Research Societies (IUMRS). ICA is held once a year and organized by IUMRS Asia members in turn. Authorized by IUMRS, IUMRS-ICA 2016 was organized by Chinese Materials Research Society (C-MRS).IUMRS-ICA2016 included 27 symposia covering the fields of: Energy and environment materials, Advanced structural materials, Functional materials, Biological materials, Materials modeling, simulation and characterization. About 2700 participants attended the conference, and the organizers received more than 80 technical papers for this proceedings. By recommendation of symposium organizers and after peer reviewing 54 papers are published in the present volume, which are selected from Symposium A: Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells, Symposium C: Photocatalytic Materials for Energy Production, Symposium D: Energy Conversion and Storage Materials, Symposium E: Nuclear Materials, Symposium L: Nanomaterials and Energy Devices, Symposium M: Advanced Carbon Materials, Symposium P: The Green and Low-carbon Emission Building Materials, and Symposium AA: Biomaterials.The editors would like to give the thanks to the symposium chairs and all the paper reviewers of this volume, especially to Prof. Yafang Han, Prof. Xinqing Zhao and Dr. Fenfen Liang for their English polishing of the manuscripts. The thanks should be also given to Mrs. Yiming Jia and Mr. Yunfei Liang for their hard work of compilation and typesetting for each paper in this volume.Chief Editor
