Abstract
A procedure is described for the preparation of a large quantity of functionally active iron-sulfur protein (adrenodoxin) crystals from bovine adrenal cortex. The preparation was found to be homogeneous on ultracentrifugation and on disc electrophoresis. It contains 150 ngatoms of iron per mg dry weight of protein and its absorbance ratio at 414 nm/276 nm in the oxidized form is 0.86.
