Abstract
Firearm injury is the leading cause of death in children and young adults in the United States. In 2018, Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL) developed the St. Louis Hospital-based Violence Intervention Program Data Repository (STL-HVIP-DR) from hospital administrative data. This repository shares data on traumatically injured patients (blunt assault, stabbing, firearm injury) across the two research universities (WUSTL and St. Louis University) and their four associated adult and pediatric level-I trauma hospitals.
