Abstract

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer and the leading cause of cancer death in women worldwide. Sarcopenia is a significant predictor of toxicity and time to progression in breast cancer patients, and chemotherapy may induce sarcopenia. Resistance exercise is a meaningful exercise prescription for sarcopenia in terms of improving muscle mass and function in elderly patients. However, there are still limited studies evaluating the effect of resistance training in decreasing muscle loss during chemotherapy.
