Abstract
December 28th, 2007 marked the fifth anniversary of the Law of the Peoples Republic of China for the Promotion of Private Schools, a law designed by the central and local governments to encourage support for private schools. After addressing the most urgent issues in regulating private education, the government began to focus on specific problems. The government also amended its public financing policy, making education free for students who study in rural private schools. In some of the eastern provinces of China, students studying in private schools now also receive free education. By taking advantage of Chinas educational system reforms, private schools are able to develop quickly and steadily. Keywords: China; educational system; private schools
