Abstract

Motivated by the ion beam analytical possibilities for exploiting 15N(d,α 0) 13C, we have measured the cross section of this reaction at deuteron energies from 400 keV to 2 MeV for laboratory angles of 135 and 150°, and from 400 keV to 1.6 MeV at 90°. Angular distributions from 85 to 160° have been measured at energies of 850, 972, 1100, 1200, and 1400 keV. Our results differ significantly from earlier measurements, which also disagree substantially amongst themselves.
