Abstract
In this letter, a wideband and compact microwave rectifier using the conditions for flat frequency characteristics of RF–dc conversion efficiency is proposed. A lumped element design was used to minimize the size of the rectifier. The multistage matching method was effective in reducing the <inline-formula> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">$Q$ </tex-math></inline-formula> value of the circuit, resulting in the wideband characteristic. Three capacitors and four inductors were used for matching. In a measurement result, RF–dc conversion efficiency exceeded 50% in the frequency range from 0.39 to 2.90 GHz, which corresponds with a fractional bandwidth of 152.6%.
