Abstract

Point-of-care diagnostics (POCD) play a pivotal role in healthcare sectors. This technology is used for detecting different diseases like cancer, diabetes, and infectious diseases as well as monitoring patients’ health conditions. In developing countries and low-resource settings, POC diagnostics are vital for quick screening of different diseases. In developed countries, POC diagnostics are used in primary care settings and often administered by medical professionals. Home POC testing is another type of this technology which reduces the frequency of hospital attendances, travel costs, and absence from work.
