Abstract

Nanocontainers are found to be very useful in various fields of science due to their versatile applicability. Various kinds of nanocontainers have been developed containing different types of active agents inside it for diverse applications. Every type of application requires a specific release behavior to be exhibited by the nanocontainer. This makes the study of the release profiles of the active agents from the nanocontainers very essential. This chapter presents a wide discussion over the various mathematical models for release of active agents from the nanocontainers along with various applications, the release kinetics of which can be predicted by these models. Also, available literature on simulation studies of release of various agents has been discussed in detail.
