Abstract

This chapter discusses near infrared Fourier transform (NIR FT)–Raman spectroscopy on molecular sieves. The potential of NIR FT–Raman spectroscopy for the investigation of zeolites (vanadylcontaining MFI, TS-1) and alumophosphate-based molecular sieves (AEI, CHA, and CLO) are also described. By dispersive Raman microscopy, a spatial distribution in a cobalt (Co)APO-34 crystal is observed. The Raman spectra allow a very rapid and sensitive detection of anatase formed during the thermal treatment of as-synthesised titanium-containing zeolites. Different vanadium species are detected in vanadium-containing ZSM-5.
