Abstract

Palladium(II) complex of 1,4,7-triazacycloalkanes (L), N H(CH 2) 2NH(CH 2) 2NH(C H 2) r (r = 2,5,6,7,8, and 10), were prepared and characterized. In the complexes [PdCl 2(LH)] ClO 4·H 2O obtained for the ligands with a small ring size (r = 2 and 5) the cyclic triamines were bidentate and one amino group protonated, while in complexes [PdClL] ClO 4 of the ligands with a large ring size (r = 6,7,8, and 10) the triamines were terdentate and the longest polymethylene chains, (CH 2) r, bridge the trans positions of a square plane.
