Abstract

Non-stoichiometric nickel aluminate spinels containing small amount of nickel were prepared by impregnating -/ -alumina with nickel nitrate and followed by thermal treatment. Steam reforming reaction of isooctane was carried out with these nickel aluminate spinel catalysts. As a result high catalytic performance was demonstrated. In the early stage of a continuous reaction the nickel aluminate spinels were partially reduced with the feed gas, which resulted in formation of fine nickel particles on the spinel surface and enhancement of catalytic reforming activity.
