Abstract
SO2+0.5O2→SO3 oxidation in the second catalyst is represented graphically much like first catalyst bed oxidation. The main difference is that the heatup path starts at first catalyst bed intercept % SO2 oxidized and the prescribed second catalyst bed intercept gas temperature. The second bed's increase in SO2 oxidation efficiency is clearly shown.
