14 - Law and Science Make a Common Effort to Enact a Zero Waste Strategy for Beverages

Abstract

Several new environmental-friendly initiatives have been flourishing in the food market worldwide in order to reduce the amount of carbon footprints and the devastating impacts of food packaging on the environment. Time has come for the legislator, both at national and international level, to develop guidelines and recommendations that encourage and enhance such initiatives, in the attempt to preserve the food quality and safety of the products and the environment itself.
