Abstract

Carbon dioxide emissions are among the main causes of climate change and are recognized as a major cause of global warming, which is increasing surprisingly because of anthropogenic activities. These emissions are mainly arising from the production as well as the consumption sector. Due to its huge impact on environmental pollution, government agencies are estimating its discharge as well as promoting its reuse in various industries and with increased advancements in science and technology, as well as social consciousness, this target seems to be achievable. Carbon dioxide utilization and carbon dioxide storage are the recent techniques that have as got attention and facilitate the discharge and reuse of it, causing less harm to our environment. This chapter mainly focuses on the uses of carbon dioxide in various industries such as metal industries, rubber and plastic industries, horticultural uses, manufacturing, and construction uses, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, petroleum industry use, paper industry uses for the production of chemicals, polymers as well as fuels using carbon dioxide, and portraying a picture of recycling of carbon dioxide in the industries.
