Abstract
Children and adolescents with ASD can have rigid eating patterns and dietary preferences, resulting in poor nutrient intake and increased risk for inadequate nutrition. In addition, food allergies and the use of specific diets can further narrow the food repertoire, making it difficult for children with ASD to consume a balanced diet and negatively impacting their quality of life. This presentation is designed to provide clinicians with current knowledge on assessing and managing nutritional status in this specific population.
