Abstract

Women are less likely than men to participate in cardiac rehabilitation (CR) and physical activity (PA). However, the impact of CR on PA participation and other health promotion (HP) practices in community settings is unknown. The aims of this study were to (1) describe the HP and PA practices and preferences of older women with CVD, and (2) determine how HP activities (including PA and CR) are prioritized, and PA information accessed. We determined whether older women with CVD differ in their PA practices (1) based on their CR attendance, and (2) compared to the population of older Ontario women.
