Abstract
TSG-6 is an anti-inflammatory protein interacting with hyaluronan (HA) in the extracellular matrix (ECM) of epidermis and overproduced in pathological contexts such as in fungal infection. Dermatophytosis are widespread superficial infections of keratinized structures, especially produced by Trichophyton rubrum in humans. However, involvements of TSG-6 protein in pathophysiology of this dermatophytosis are not yet fully understood. The development of T. rubrum infection was characterized on TSG-6+/+ and TSG-6-/- reconstructed epidermis (RHE).
