Abstract
The content and organisation of Table 5 named ‘Ethnic and national groups’ states that the table is used when a subject pertains to, or is treated among, a specified group of people based on their ethnicity or nationalities. Table 5 finds its relevance amongst social science disciplines, including arts and literature and can be used in two ways which this chapter will cover: first, the specific instructions in schedules or tables to use notation from Table 5; and second, if needed, this table can still be used by applying the standard subdivision −089 from Table 1 as the facet indicator. This chapter provides many examples of Table 5’s often frequent use and combination with Table 2, Table 3C, or in conjunction with Table 6.
