Abstract

This chapter outlines the characteristics and applications of polymer laboratories (PL) aquagel-OH aqueous size exclusion chromatography (SEC) columns. The design of modern size exclusion chromatography columns still retains some of the basic polymer science founded in the 1960s, there have been some significant developments in particle technology that have expanded the scope of SEC for both organic and aqueous applications. Increased activity in the field of polymer research places greater demands on SEC columns as the technique continues to provide the polymer scientist with a very useful tool for characterization. Polymer laboratories have a very well established, successful product range and continue to explore new areas of column development where they might succeed in solving some of the more complex SEC applications problems.
