Abstract

Throughout this chapter, we will focus on the aspects of high-entropy alloys’ (HEAs’) application in catalysis. HEAs have through their unique composition of multiple elements exhibited extraordinary and tunable properties that make them promising candidates for catalysis. This chapter explores the core effects in HEAs, how they impact catalyst design, and where the role of compositional complexity in enhancing catalytic performance is emphasized. Additionally, how HEAs are articulated in the current catalysis literature will be discussed, providing readers with a comprehensive understanding of their application in this field. Finally, the chapter will conclude with an outlook as to how the landscape of HEAs in catalysis is expected to develop.
