Abstract
This chapter introduces the natural wood fiber-based electricity functional composites, starting by describing their definition, classification, and the status of development and applications. The chapter then focuses on three major electricity functional composites, namely the antistatic, electromagnetic shielding, and electric heating composites. The antistatic composites, the earliest researched composites, are briefly discussed in terms of antistatic mechanisms, antistatic functional elements, production, performance, and application. The electromagnetic shielding composites, especially its shielding mechanisms and elements, structure, production, performance, and jointing technology, are then fully examined. The popular electric heating composite is finally introduced by explaining its heating and heat transfer mechanisms, structure, production, and applications, especially the heating performance and electrical safety protection. The chapter completes with the future trend of development for the theoretical innovations, key technologies, and new functionalities.
