Abstract
The operation of an experimental two-strand spinning system in which cylindrical rubber monofilaments are used is investigated, and the results are compared with the idealized theoretical model. Experimental results are shown to be in good agreement with the theoretical model. Results from a system in which nylon multifilament strands are used are also given and the differences between experimental results and the theoretical model explained in terms of departures from the idealizing assumptions of the model.
