Abstract
The University of South Florida Division of Global Emergency Medical Sciences (GEMS) is active in India with an initiative to advocate the development of academic emergency medicine (EM) residency programs in medical schools and university hospitals across India. As a part of this endeavor USF annually hosts an INDO-US Emergency Medicine Summit in partnership with its collaborator, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. Simulation is rapidly becoming an important and valuable tool in medical education. An emergency simulation laboratory workshop was conducted as a part of this summit. The concept was to expose participants to the American concept of EM thru simulation education. Using simulation technology, participants were exposed to a variety of core competencies, medical knowledge, and procedural skills.
