Abstract

Different evaluation and corrosion measurement techniques of steel in concrete are reviewed in this chapter. Corrosion involves electrochemical reactions at the interface between a metal (i.e., reinforcing steel) and an electrolyte solution (i.e., concrete pore solution). Thus, most corrosion measurement techniques rely on electrochemical measurement methods. This chapter discusses conventional corrosion measurement methods, which have an electrochemical basis, and nonconventional methods, such as LC resonators.
