Abstract

José Revueltas (1914-1976) was a leftist activist, since he was a teenager until his death. As an activist he suffered prison and intolerance in organizations in which he participated. Intolerance against him was due mostly to its emphasis on writing and speaking his mind, both in literature and in their political and theoretical reflections. In this text the period when he was expelled from the Mexican Communist Party (the second time) and Spartacus Leninist League founded in 1960 is highlighted.

N o puedo menos que estremecerme al recordar a José Revueltas a un siglo de su nacimiento, y no lo digo sólo por los varios momentos que pasó en prisión por sus ideas y su acción. Fueron los años en que el Partido Comunista Mexicano, donde participaba Revueltas, vivía en la clandestinidad y sus militantes, por lo mismo, eran objeto de persecuciones y acosos, unos más que otros.[3] Revueltas fue de los apresados, y primero estuvo en un calabozo de la Cárcel de Belem y luego en la Isla María Madre del archipiélago Las Marías.
