Abstract

Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) is a powerful and versatile diagnostic technique with the ability to comprehensively assess cardiac structure and function at rest or during stress, without ionizing radiation, and in three dimensions along any imaging plane. Its particular advantages lie in myocardial and other soft tissue characterization, as well as the penetration of bone and air-filled structures without attenuation.
