Abstract
This chapter introduces the research background of monitoring, identification, and tracing of oil spill on sea water. The sources of oil spills, including offshore exploitation and transportation, land source oil spills, etc., as well as their corresponding characteristics are discussed in details. A brief review on the status and development trend of oil spill detection, identification, and tracing technology is provided in the last section of this chapter.
