Abstract

Comparing to the manufacturing of silicon integrated circuits, printed electronics represents a paradigm shift in electronics manufacturing. Printing brings a number of advantages into electronics applications, including form factors (large area and flexibility) and cost reduction. Metal oxides as an important category of electronic materials can be printed as well, as long as they are made into solution forms, i.e. inks, and proper solution processing techniques are applied. This Chapter gives an overview of printing fabrication processes and the printed electronics specifically relevant to solution processing metal oxides. Brief introductions of each chapter are also given to guide readers into the main body of this book.
