Abstract
Polymer composite materials are gaining significant interest due to their improved mechanical and physical properties. The addition of nanomaterials as hybrid fillers has revolutionized the development of polymer composite materials. Nanomaterials possess unique properties that make them highly attractive as fillers in polymer composite materials. This chapter reviews the role of nanomaterials as hybrid fillers in polymer composite materials. The effects of various types of nanomaterials on the mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties of the polymer composite materials are discussed. The synergistic effect of nanomaterials with different shapes, sizes, and surface characteristics has been explored. The challenges associated with the dispersion of nanomaterials in the polymer matrix are also highlighted. The chapter concludes by outlining the future prospects of nanomaterials as hybrid fillers in polymer composite materials.
