Abstract
The title compound, C17H12F6OS2, is a new nonsymmetric photochromic diarylethene which contains 3-thienyl substituents. The distance between the two reactive C atoms in the molecule is 3.550 (7) Å. The dihedral angles between the central cyclopentene ring and two thiophene rings are 44.7 (3) and 43.6 (3)°.
