Abstract
In recent years workers of historical and agricultural Sciences have shown greater interest in the activities of the Free Economic Society in the period 1820–1930. Especially this has been demonstrated during the International scientific conference «Historical legacies of the Moscow Agricultural Society and modernization of the agricultural sector in Russia» dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the Moscow Agricultural Society. The article considers the evaluation of Moscow Agricultural Society’s proceedings, its contemporaries’ main achievements in agricultural modernization in Russia, specifically by Free Economic Society, and also their interaction. The article illustrates that the Free Economic Society provided support and promoted many initiatives of the Moscow Agricultural Society. Some examples of evaluating publications of Moscow Agricultural Society by the Free Economic Society are provided. It shows its role in promoting many industries and technological solutions in the Russian agricultural economy during the 19th century.
