Abstract
The paper characterizes 15 accessions of Aegilops tauschii in growth habit. Using PCR analysis and sequencing, the structure of the Vrn-D1 gene was studied in all samples. Three allelic variant gene were found: (i) intact, (ii) with a 5437 bp deletion in the first intron and (iii) a previously undescribed allelic variant with a 3273 bp deletion in the first intron. It is shown that spring plants Ae. tauschii is formed due to a new variant of the Vrn-D1 gene.
