Abstract

As a public place for collecting, researching and displaying cultural relics, museums provide people with opportunities to get in touch with culture and history, visit and learn, and are deeply loved by people. With the development of science and technology, virtual museum has become a new form used in many museums. Virtual museums use advanced technology to provide visitors with a rich museum experience on a network platform. In the “2021 Global Theme Parks and Museums Report” published by TEA, the 6 most popular virtual museums were selected as the research objects. The research method is to analyze the current situation of the virtual museum and the experience of the visitors, grasp the existing problems of the virtual museum, and propose the direction of improvement. Through questionnaire survey and spss analysis method, it verifies the impact of various factors on tourists' participation, and deeply understands the needs and expectations of tourists. The results of the study show that the participation of visitors in the virtual museum is mainly affected by various factors such as visual effects, interactivity, number of exhibitions/area, content of virtual exhibits, and technology. These factors determine the overall experience and satisfaction of visitors to the virtual museum. These factors can be improved in the future to promote the development of virtual museums.
