Abstract

A series of fifteen substituted amides (hydrazides) of N-acyl-5-bromo(3,5-dibromo)anthranilic acids have been synthesized and their ionization constants were determined by potentiometric titration. The quantum-chemical parameters of each substance were calculated and four correlation equations connecting the ionization constants and the quantum-chemical parameters were obtained. Using these equations, the values of ionization constants for four new substances from these series were predicted. These theoretical values were confirmed experimentally. Thus, the correlation equations can be used for predicting the ionization constants in the series of substituted amides (hydrazides) of N-acyl-5-brom(3,5-dibrom)anthranilic acids and for studying the structure - activity relationships.
