Abstract
In this study, to standardize the heat treatment process, which is widely applied around the world, the optimal process conditions and homogenized values of physical properties were derived through analysis using the Design of Experiment (DoE) method In the case study, the main factors affecting the heat treatment were selected and presented in a Fish Bone Diagram, and input and output variables were selected. Then in the characterization stage, full factorial design (FD) was applied to confirm main effects and interactions, and the experimental range was determined appropriately. Next, in the optimization stage, the optimal condition that satisfied the response variable, the Design Space (DS), and the safe Operating Space (OS) were derived by applying the Response Surface Method (RSM). Finally, through the reproducibility experiment, it was confirmed that the experimental value was similar to the predicted optimization value. Based on the productivity analysis, it can be predicted that the productivity will increase by reducing both the number of re-heat treatments and sample costs. In addition, stable physical properties value can be secured through the standardization of heat treatment production processes.
