μ−capture onC12and the tensor form factor

Abstract

Recent experiments in nuclear beta decay have indicated a large tensor form factor in the decay B/sub 12/ ..-->.. C/sub 12/ + e/sup -/ + anti ..nu../sub l/. Elementary particle methods are use to study the implications of this result for the ..mu.. capture reaction ..mu../sup -/ + C/sub 12/ ..-->.. B/sub 12/ + ..nu../sub ..mu../. Agreement is hard to obtain unless the induced pseudoscalar is somewhat larger than its simple partial conservation of axial-vector current (PCAC) value. (AIP)
